The iconic Wolfman Panel in Butler Wash. The first real rock art panel I visited on my first trip to Utah, October 22, 2013

The Wolfman Panel, Butler Wash, Utah

In October of 2013, I made my first solo trip to Utah, seeking adventure.  The crown jewel of that trip was my backpack with Vaughn Hadenfeldt into Slickhorn Canyon.  I did some exploring on my own prior to joining Vaughn, and one of the places I visited by myself was The Wolfman Panel in Butler Wash, outside of Bluff, Utah.  Although a pedestrian hike at best, I was quite proud of myself for finding the trailhead and navigating the old cattle trail down to the site.  The first gallery below is from that initial visit I made on October 22, 2013.  The following Spring Billy Ward and I did a rock art trip, and visited Wolfman.  The second gallery below is from this visit with Billy on March 13, 2014.  The Wolfman Panel is a magnificent work of rock art, but a little difficult to photograph because of the narrow ledge that slopes away quickly at its base.  Hope you enjoy my pictures of this special place.

Right across Butler Wash from the Wolfman Panel are some ruins. Need to hike over there some day!
Not sure when this shot was taken, or who took it for me.
