THE WHITE MAN SITE (NATURAL BRIDGES)

On Tuesday morning, March 20, 2018, I visited the White Man Site in Natural Bridges National Monument.  The site is reached by hiking down to the canyon floor on the Sipapu Bridge trail, then heading upstream under Sipapu Bridge.  The site is located a couple of miles upstream on the left hand side of the canyon in a very shallow alcove.  The main part of the site contains a majestic pictograph panel commonly called “The White Man” as well as a structure with a T-shaped door, with a couple of subterranean structures next to it.  In the same alcove, off to the right, is a narrow ledge that contains several small structures and a petroglyph panel above one of them.  Although the rock art at this site is not plentiful, it was certainly worth the effort to get there!  I hope you enjoy the photos I took that day.  To see my blog post about the trip that includes my visit to the White Man Site and Natural Bridges, look here
