Kachina Bridge Rock Art Galleries
Early on the morning of March 19, 2018, I hiked down the Kachina Bridge trail to explore the rock art associated with the bridge. I found rock art on both sides of the underside of Kachina Bridge. There were both petroglyphs and pictographs under the bridge. On the upstream face of the bridge, there is a petroglyph panel on the left (looking downstream). If you are looking upstream at the base of the bridge, there is a site up and to the left of the bridge, consisting of some ruins, pictographs, and petroglyphs. In the ruin area, there is art inside the circular ruin, on the wall behind the ruins, and on the large boulders near the ruins. The area contains an interesting array of art, and appears to include a number of styles and ages — it is apparent that this place was special to many people over long periods of time. I spent several hours exploring and photographing the area. To see my blog post that includes my visit to the Kachina Bridge rock art sites in Natural Bridges, look here. I hope you enjoy my photos from that day! As is my custom when putting these galleries together, I separate the cell phone pictures from those taken with my Nikon camera. Since much of the art beneath the bridge was high up (and beyond the reach of my cell phone), there are more pictures in the Nikon galleries.
These first two galleries were taken with my Samsung S7 cell phone…

Kachina Bridge Ruins and Rock Art in a Different Light…
After my morning exploration of the area around Kachina Bridge, I headed upstream in search of Ruin Rock. I did not find Ruin Rock, but I did find a small ruin and a rock art site I call “The White Shield”. When I turned around and headed back toward Kachina Bridge, several hours had passed, so I hiked back up to the Kachina Bridge Ruin and found it was in a much softer light than I had encountered that morning…so I took some more photos in that different light. Here are some of the photos I took later in the day at Kachina Bridge Ruin…
