The Turtle Rock and Managada Galleries, Kalumburu, Western Australia
After spending a little time at the small False Gorge site, we headed over to the Turtle Rock Site. The rock art here was more complex and more plentiful. After exploring the area around Turtle Rock, we drove a very short distance to an area that Clarrie called Managada. There we found one very nice large panel and some exquisite Bradshaw art in some smaller panels in the area. After viewing the rock art, Clarrie demonstrated some bush skills — tucker (almonds), spear shaft straightening, and hand stencil art using charcoal. I enjoyed these sites…they were beautiful and thought provoking. I hope you enjoy my photos!
