The Munurru Galleries
On Wednesday, September 18, 2019, I visited the area near the King Edward River Crossing (on the track to Mitchell Falls) that the Wunambal aboriginal people know as Munurru. There are two clusters of rock outcrops in this area, each with rock art. The first rock cluster is a short distance (about 700 meters) after crossing the King Edward River and is known as the Wandjina Complex. The second rock cluster is located 4.5 kilometers to the west after crossing the river, and is known as the Brolga Complex. I had a wonderful day exploring these sites. The following evening, Thursday, September 19, 2019, I camped at the King Edward River Campground at Munurru, and explored the area and found a few small isolated panels of rock art.
