The Crab Shelter Gallery

Dan A. Hughes Unit of The Devil’s River State Natural Area

I visited the Crab Shelter pictograph site on the the morning of Saturday, October 28, 2023.   I was part of a SHUMLA Treks group that visited two rock shelters on the 18,000 acre property that is located on the Devil’s River in the Trans-Pecos Region of Texas.  To read my blog about my visit to this site, look here.  We were originally scheduled to visit Los Vientos, but the preserve superintendent deemed the hike too dangerous because of recent heavy rains.  So we substituted Crab shelter instead.
