The Rock Art Ranch Galleries
On the afternoon of Thursday, November 30, 2017, I visited Brantley Baird’s Rock Art Ranch outside of Winslow, Arizona, for the first time. I had originally planned to visit the ranch on Friday, but when I called Brantly Thursday Morning (about a month prior to my visit I called him and he said to just call the day before I wanted to visit) he said he was going elk hunting on Friday so I needed to come that day. I was in Phoenix, so I headed immediately to the ranch, arriving there in the early afternoon. Brantley showed me around his place, then, comfortable that I could be trusted, told me where the key was hidden and gave me directions to the canyon, which is located quite a distance from his ranch house. So I headed over to the canyon and had the place all to my self. I stayed there all afternoon and really enjoyed this magnificent place. Hope you enjoy my photos from that day! My September 28, 2024 Visit To Rock Art Ranch…
On the morning of Saturday, September 28, 2024, my friend Richard and I visited the Rock Art Ranch. We had both visited the ranch before, but we wanted to return and photograph the rock art again. To see the details of our trip and our visit to this special place, take a look at my blog post. Brantley met us at the back gate and let us in. He was comfortable doing that because he knew we had both visited the Ranch before. It was good to see him and have a short visit. I don’t know how old he is, but he looks remarkably fit and remains very sharp. I am so glad we made this visit. Brantley didn’t mention it to us, but after our visit we heard that the Ranch was going to close for good at the end of the year. As I write these words (March 4, 2025), the Ranch is for sale. I pray that whoever buys it will still make this magnificent rock art site available for public visits. Here are some of the photos I took that morning.
