Paiute Cave Galleries

I left Kanab, Utah early on the morning of July 11, 2019, headed for Paiute Cave.  It was a little after 6:00 a.m. when I left the paved road just outside of Colorado City.  I took my time driving to the turn off to Paiute Cave (a little over thirty miles), enjoying the sunrise and the landscape.  The road was not bad.  After I turned off the main road, I took special care because of the sharp volcanic rocks that were present the last 1.2 miles.  When I arrived at the cave, it was a pleasant 61 degrees.  I saw a large rattlesnake sunning on one of the black basalt boulders near the entrance to the cave, but he slithered off once I got close.  I enjoyed seeing the art in this cave.  The elements are vibrant, and well executed.  To see the blog post that includes my visit to Pauite Cave, look here.  Below are some of the photos I took that day…I hope you enjoy them!
