This unusual double stacked granary, with two pictographs standing guard, was one of my favorites in Slickhorn Canyon.

Slickhorn Canyon Ruins Galleries

In October of 2013 (24th through the 28th) I did a backpack into Slickhorn Canyon with Vaughn Hadenfeldt of Far Out Expeditions (Bluff, Utah).  For my blog post about our trip into Slickhorn, look here.  In these galleries, I focus on the ruins that I observed during this trip.  I will post separate galleries for the rock art, and the artifacts I observed on this trip (there was a lot!).  The ruins were interesting — some were traditional, but many were a little different, using lots of wood, stacked (no mortar) rocks, and waddle and daub.  The highlight of the ruins was the intact kiva –  it is original, except for the ladder.  (The original ladder is on display at the Edge of the Cedars Museum in Blanding, Utah).  I hope you enjoy my pictures!
