The First Christian Church of Phoenix, Arizona, was designed by FLLW in 1950, as part of a commissionto design a classical university for a Seminary.  Since the Seminary was closed shortly thereafter, none of the buildings FLLW designed (chapel, administrative buildings, library, theatre, and faculty homes) were built.  The leadership of First Christian Church of Phoenix got permission from FLLW’s widow to use the plans for their new building.  Construction of the Worship Center began in 1971 and was finished in 1973.  I visited this beautiful church on the morning of Thursday, January 4, 2024.  I spent quite a bit of time walking the grounds before entering the church office and asking if I could see the inside of the sanctuary.  One of the church employees was kind enough to escort me to the sanctuary and unlock it for me.  What a beautiful space to worship!  Below you will find a gallery of pictures I took that morning.  I hope you enjoy them!
