Artefact Cave and the Catacombs Galleries

September 11, 2019 was my first morning at Davidson’s in Arnhemland.  I had crossed the East Alligator River early that morning and driven to Davidson’s for my first rock art hike that was to begin at 8:30 in the morning.  The site was a short drive from the lodge and a pleasant hike to our first site, known as Artefact Cave.  Adjacent to Artefact Cave is a network of caves and burial sites known as the Catacombs.  The rock art at Artefact Cave was concentrated in one overhang/shelter, and was stunning.  Hope you enjoy the photos I took at these sites.
