Arrow Canyon Gallery

On the late afternoon/early evening of Wednesday, November 6, 2019 I stopped and hiked into Arrow Canyon on my way to Las Vegas, after spending the day at some of the Lincoln County sites.  I was unable to cross a washed out section of the road so the hike was much longer than I anticipated.  On the hike in, I thought about turning back several times, as I became concerned about not having enough daylight to return to my truck.  I persevered however, and was able to make it into the section of the canyon that contained most of the rock art.  It was a beautiful hike, in spite of being rushed and having to hike the last mile or so to my truck in the dark.  I would like to visit this site again some day and spend the whole day exploring!  To see details of the trip that included my visit to this site, look here.  Below are some of the photos I took that day in beautiful Arrow Canyon.

The hike into the canyon was interesting and diverse....some sections very narrow, some much wider.
The first petroglyphs I encountered in Arrow Canyon...very old and faint.
This stretch of the canyon wall had several very nice panels.
This was one of my favorites.
Lots of footprints on this one.
Yours truly in Arrow Canyon. I took this pic and immediately began the race to get out of the canyon before dark!
The beautiful view as I high-tailed it out of Arrow Canyon. I was still quite a way from my truck and it was very close to being dark.
