THE VISITOR CENTER AND TRAILHEAD FOR THE CYPRESS ISLAND PRESERVE.

Cypress Island Preserve, Louisiana

I visited this beautiful place on the early morning hours of Sunday, April 23, 2023.  Dorothy and I were visiting her cousin Belle in Lafayette and later that afternoon would attend a performance by Sean Dietrich in Baton Rouge.  This is a beautiful place and I  enjoyed my time there and my walk along the levee.  There are lots of Herons, Egrets, and Spoonbills in the rookeries, and they were very entertaining to watch.  There were also lots of alligators, and a number of other birds, including migrating songbirds. As a matter of fact, I could have spent the whole day here…I  think I need to come back someday!  Here are some of my photos from my visit.
