Group photo of field trip to Hueco Tanks, 2019 TAS Rock Art Academy, February 17, 2019. Can you spot me?!

Hueco Tanks Gallery, Part 2

I took the photos in this gallery on a field trip that was part of the TAS Rock Art Academy, February 16-17, 2019, in El Paso, Texas.  For my blog post about the Academy, look here.  The field trip divided attendees into two groups.  I was with the group led by Margaret Berrier.  The other group was led by Larry Loendorf, an archaeologist well known for his work in rock art.  Hope you enjoy my photos!

This First Set of Photos Was Taken With My Nikon D7200…

This large boulder near the picnic area where we gathered had very old petroglyphs on top.

This panel is called "The Puking Horse".

One of the best known figures at Hueco Tanks..."The Starry-Eyed Man".
This is the alcove where the Starry-Eyed Man is located. Note the grinding hole.
Near the Starry-Eyed Man alcove, I found a few elements done in white paint...one was a handprint.

An unusual zoomorph done in black.
A little different shot of the Starry-Eyed Man.
