YOURS TRULY STANDING NEXT TO THE "HORNED YEI" IN LARGO CANYON ON APRIL 22, 2022.

Horned Yei Gallery

On April 22, 2022, I spent the day in Largo Canyon with Tori Myers (staff archaeologist at the Salmon Ruins Museum) looking for rock art.  One of the panels that we visited was identified by Tori as the “Four Horned Yei”.  If you look closely at the large central anthropomorph you will see his head is adorned with two sets of horns, one small set and one large set.  For simplicity’s sake I am calling the panel “Horned Yei”.  It is located about midway up the canyon wall, and takes a little bit of a scramble to make it up to the ledge just below the panel.  It is the type of panel that the more you look, the more you see — a spiral, smaller anthropomorphs, something in the Yei’s right hand, a handprint, and a fairly large horned zoomorph.  I enjoyed this little site.  To read my blog post about the trip that includes my visit to this site, look here.  Below are some of the photos I took during my visit.
