FOR A LITTLE LANDSCAPE CONTEXT, THIS IS A PHOTO OF THE CLIFFSIDE WHERE THE SINGING BAT IS LOCATED. IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY YOU CAN SEE IT NEAR THE MIDDLE. THIS AREA IS IN A SIDE DRAW, NOT ON THE LITTLE COLORADO ITSELF.

The Singing Bat Site Gallery

I visited the Singing Bat Site (also called “The Man Standing on Shoulders” site) on the morning of Tuesday, March 10, 2026, during my Spring 2026 Rock Art Trip.  This site is located on the Little Colorado River corridor north of Woodruff Butte.  Like the nearby Mother of Game site, I had considerable trouble obtaining specific location information for this site, but I was delighted to finally pay a visit.  The main panel is certainly the star of this show, but I was surprised at how many other interesting panels were in the immediate area.  This beautiful site is also featured in Tapamvemi  (McCreery and Malotki, Fig. 9.17, pg. 164).  Well worth a visit!
