FLUTE-PLAYER CAVE WAS OUR FIRST STOP OF DAY 2 AND WE WERE ABLE TO DRIVE RIGHT UP TO IT.

CDC – 6

I visited Flute-player Cave in Canyon de Chelly on the morning of Sunday, March 8, 2026 during my Spring 2026 Rock Art Trip.  This site is in a divided rock shelter above the canyon floor.  The left section at the site features a couple of crude anthropomorphs in yellow paint and a couple of horned human figures done in white paint.  Outside the right section of the site you will find the star of the show, a humpbacked recumbent flute-player.  A very nice way to start our day!

THE FLUTE PLAYER IS ACTUALLY OUTSIDE OF THE CAVE ON THE CANYON WALL.
