Faux Many Cherry Gallery

On the afternoon of March 7, 2026 during my Spring 2026 rock art trip I visited a pictograph site in Canyon del Muerto that I have decided to call the Faux Many Cherry Site.  At first glance, I thought this site was Many Cherry Canyon, MCC-11, described on pages 259 and 260 of Campbel Grant’s book, Canyon de Chelly, Its People and Rock Art.  But as I took a closer look at the details of my photographs, it became apparent to me that the materials in Grant’s book do not match the photos I took at this site.  For example,  the photo in Grant’s book (Fig. 4.43 on page 193) which includes an impaled anthropomorph (see also drawing in Fig. 4.46 on page 195) does not match any of my photos. So while the general description of the the site matches my photos, the details do not.  Perhaps I missed part of the site, so I decided to designate my photos as “Faux Many Cherry”.  Below are some of my photos of this interesting little site.
