Cottonwood Preserve
I visited the Cottonwood Preserve on Monday, September 29, 2025 as part of a URARA Field Trip. We visited the Cottonwood Site after we finished up at the Sagrada Preserve — Cottonwood is just a short distance from Mesa Prieta on the Rio Grande side of the mesa, while Sagrada is on the other side of the mesa, overlooking the Chama River. This was a nice little site, and, although I had seen several of the panels from the road, it was very nice to see them up close. And many thanks to John Kinchelowe, the site steward, who met us at the site and showed us around. A very enjoyable way to end my time with the URARA folks!
