Olivaceous Woodcreeper

Sittasomus griseicapillus

eBird provides this description for the Olivaceous Woodcreeper:  A small, unstreaked woodcreeper of tropical and subtropical humid forest. Fairly common but unobtrusive. Moves quickly up trunks, often flying to low on the next tree and circling up again. Distinguished from other woodcreepers by small size, small slender bill, and plain gray head and underparts (no pale streaks or spots).

I saw my first Olivaceous Woodcreeper at Blackrock Lodge on November 22, 2024.  I stayed three nights at Black Rock on my own, since my group from The Texas Ornithological Society had to cut our trip to Belize short due to complications with Tropical Storm Sara. I doubt that I would have located and identified this little bird without the help of my young guide, Jeffry.  The only photos I managed were looking at the bird from the back as it climbed a tree.  Here are a couple of photos that I took that day.
