THE DEAD WASH PANEL IN PETRIFIED FOREST NATIONAL PARK IS OFF THE BEATEN PATH BUT WORTH THE EFFORT!

Dead Wash Gallery

I visited the Dead Wash Petroglyph Site on the morning of September 29, 2024 during my visit to Petrified Forest National Park.  The solo hike was much more difficult than I anticipated.  Instead of using the standard approach (outlined in the Park’s “Off the Beaten Path” brochure) I decided to approach the wash from the south, and ended up exploring some pretty rough terrain.  Anyway, I was delighted when I finally made it to the canyon that houses the site.  Here are some of the photos I took that morning.
